Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Initial work was classified as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4that draws inspiration from hip-hop, electronic, and rock. She is often incorporating science fiction and feminist themes in the lyrics. The singer has recorded five albums. She was raised and born in Vancouver (later relocated from there to Montreal), Grimes began releasing music independently at the end of the 2000s with two albums released, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa which were released in 2010, with Arbutus Records. The album was released in 2012 and Visions was her third studio album. The band was signed to 4AD. Visions contains the two singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and won the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in the year 2015. Many publications considered it the top album. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth studio album.
